This course covers the theoretical part of the basic safety training for seafarers, which is mandatory for all personnel working on vessels. Through tuition and training in preventive safety, first aid, sea rescue and fire safety, the course teaches you to take care of your own safety and that of others. By taking the theoretical part of the course online, you cut down the time you need to attend an approved safety centre and save both time and money. 

IGF Advanced Webinar

Lectures will be presented remotely. Participants need a PC/tablet with camera, mic, speaker, pen and paper for the lectures. After enrolment, participant will receive a personal information about the course and code for "log in" to Mintra TrainingPortal. Compendiums for use in the course can be downloaded from TrainingPortal. A personal code for joining the webinar will be sent by Mail.                            

Mandatory requirements for personal COP IGF Advanced:

After fulfilling the lectures (Remotely), participants will need sailing experience (PA) on an IGF vessel and documentation of 3 bunkering’s. This course is made for personnel who organize or perform: planning, installation, inspection and maintenance of Ex equipment.

The course gives an introduction and repetition in different subjects treated in the IEC 60079 Standard (NEK EN 60079).

The course duration is 5 hours and is valid for 5 years

The course can also be taken as a refresher course for Ex maintenance

Is there an assessment?

Once you have completed the course, you will be asked a series of questions to check your knowledge and understanding. These are based on the learning objectives for the course and have a pass mark of 70%.

Section 7 of the “Safety Regulations for Work and Operation of Electrical Equipment and Installations” (FSE) sets requirements for yearly FSE training for relevant personnel. This e-learning course takes you through the requirements of the regulations and gives you training and instruction in FSE. The course focuses on safety for work on low voltage installations offshore.

The course also provides first-aid instruction and training. CPR training must be completed separately.

In accordance with section 7 of FSE, FSE and and first-aid training must be completed at least once a year. In order to meet the requirement for being able to provide first aid in the event of electrical accidents, you also need to complete yearly practical training in CPR (mouth-to-mouth and heart compressions).

This course addresses a variety of issues and covers how to prevent electrical accidents, routines in the event of accidents, and theoretical first aid, and aims to help prevent harm to people, equipment, and installations.
