Executive presence isn’t something you’re born with, it’s a combination of learned behaviors and characteristics that can be developed. Depending upon your personality, industry, business goals and challenges, executive presence can be manifested in different ways. 

Having great presentation skills and making a strong first impression based on your clothing and demeanor is not executive presence. You need more substantive abilities to face daily business challenges, speak your mind while maintaining your composure, or inspire your team to commit to a demanding new goal. Executive presence is a purposefully developed hybrid of internal character and external presentation. Let’s look at the qualities that distinguish great leaders from mediocre ones.

One of the key responsibilities of a leader is to assess team members on a regular basis. These might include post-project reviews, annual or quarterly performance evaluations, and in-the-moment feedback.  

Organizations use different parameters and tools to assess their employees. The assessments used are based on functional goals, developmental goals, innovation goals, stretch goals, or any other goals customized to the organizational needs. Irrespective of the tools you use, when it is time to assess your employees, do you rely on the data or by your perception of the person?  

As fair and factual as you believe your assessments are, you might actually be guilty of some “rater biases” that can skew your evaluations.

McKinsey’s 7-S model was created by McKinsey consultants Robert Waterman, Tom Peters, Richard Pascale, and Anthony Athos. It provides a framework to plan and execute mid-term organizational change. It is based on the premise that organizations perform properly when seven key elements are aligned. 

The seven key elements are structure, strategy, systems, skills, style, staff, and shared values. The model is most often used as an organizational analysis tool to assess and monitor changes in the internal situation of an organization.

We will examine some common sentence structure mistakes. And we’ll study some common word choice errors. Finally, we’ll provide a list of online resources and books. Coaching is a process, which the leaders use to help employees become more independent. There are many coaching programs available to managers these days. But the good leaders implement The COACH Model in coordination with a coaching philosophy that includes mentoring, constant two-way communication, and continuous feedback. The COACH Model is a five-step program that walks a leader through the process of coaching an associate from setting a goal to measuring their success at the end of the process.

Dette kurset vil gi fremtidige kranførere en god teoretisk grunnopplæring i sikker bruk av offshorekran. Opplæringen gir kandidatene god innsikt i prinsippene for offshorekraners konstruksjon, virkemåte, vedlikehold og bruk slik at uhell og ulykker i forbindelse med løfteoperasjoner unngås. It is important that a ship can demonstrate compliance with the ISPS Code through the provision of an International Ship Security Certificate (ISSC), or in circumstances where there is an obvious security failing; otherwise, difficulties may be experienced at ports of call-in relation to the Port State Control Authorities. For this reason, this course is intended to align UK flagged cargo ships with the UK Department for Transport Maritime Security (formerly TRANSEC) with UK flagged passenger ships and port facilities, and to help in the generation of practical and sustainable regimes that balance the security of the ship with the wellbeing of the crew.

The course conforms to CSSI guidelines provided by the UK Department for Transport Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), which specifies the baseline protective security measures to be taken by ships at all ports around the world and at each of the Security Levels, and aims to ensure consistent, proportionate, and practical measures are in place.

The UK Department for Transport (formerly TRANSEC) and The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) have responsibility to ensure the safety of port facility and cargo/freight & passenger ship security, within a policy framework demanded by international maritime legislation and codes outlined in SOLAS Chapter X1-2 and the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code.

This applies to the following types of ships engaged on international voyages:

• Passenger ships, including high-speed craft.

• Cargo ships, including high-speed craft, of 500 gross tonnage and upwards.

• Mobile offshore drilling units as defined in Regulation XI-2/1.1.5. (SOLAS)

Basic Fire Awareness for the wind industry.

Upon completion of the Global Wind Organization (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST), delegates will have awareness of the dangers that arise when working in the wind industry and how to control and reduce these dangers.

The course covers the requirements for training of personnel and refresher courses both onshore and offshore wind in accordance with:

- Global Wind Organization (GWO)

- Labor Inspection (Regulations)

Competence for "Fire Awareness" must be maintained in accordance with. guideline in the GWO standard. It shall be conducted refresher training every 2 years.

Objective: To give the person who is to work with a traverse crane knowledge about safe use, daily control and maintenance as well as competence to avoid accidents and incidents.

The authorities set requirements for basic safety certification of persons who are to operate bridge and overhead cranes. The requirements include both theoretical and practical training

G4 Bridge and Traverse Crane Basic course consists of modules 2.7 and 3.7. To complete the course, you must take and pass a theoretical exam.

Proper use of overhead cranes is of great importance for the safety of crane operators and other personnel who participate in lifting operations. Incorrect assessments can have major consequences and lead to serious injuries to the crane driver, other personnel as well as equipment and surroundings. Positive attitudes towards safety are therefore important during training.

The crane driver training for G4 consists of five modules:

- Module 1.1 working environment, responsibilities and consequences. *
- Module 2.3 G11 Lifting gear (strap and sling).
- Module 2.7 G4 bridge and overhead crane
- Module 3.7 Basic practical training G4
- Module 4.7 Practical driving training G4
- Practical Final test G4

* Module 1.1 is common to machine, forklift and crane. If you can not document that you have module 1.1 from before that is not older than 3 years, this must be taken again.

Module 4.7 can be completed in a company using a sponsorship arrangement. If you do not have the opportunity to do so, you can participate in one of STQ's practice courses.
